The high percentage of videos being watched without a sound is not very surprising to Facebook, though, since Facebook has designed a video ecosystem in which turning up the volume is not required. But did you know that out of all the views happening on Facebook videos, 85% is watched in silence? An American media and technology company also claims that their silent videos get 50% up to 80% views. In fact, Facebook video stats show that the platform is getting up to 8 billion views per day. According to multiple publishers, Facebook Watch is considered one of the largest video sharing platforms besides YouTube.
Facebook announced its Facebook Watch feature on August 10th, 2017, but it only became available worldwide on August 30th, 2018. In fact, many other social media platforms are introducing video features. Since videos are more immersive compared to texts and images, more and more people are getting more engaged.
